My least favorite Donnie yen movie is the overrated special id.what a mess that js plot wise
I love Donnie, and even when he’s in a film (or films) that aren’t that great (he’s played second fiddle for years), he usually manages to steal the scenes that he’s in. That being said, I’ve gotta say “Iron Monkey 2” may be one of my LEAST favorite Donnie Yen films. It’s just…it’s just atrocious. I would attempt to give you all the reasons that I dislike it, but my brain has purged all of its awfulness.
Blade 2…..wasnt horrible, but the 1st was much better.
I wasn’t a fan of Highlander Endgame.
I’d say my least favorite Donnie Yen film I’ve seen so far is Painted Skin. It’s not that Painted Skin is a bad movie or anything, it’s just that I prefer to watch Donnie Yen in martial arts films.
I also agree with Mo, I didn’t really like Iron Monkey 2 either.
My least favorite Donnie Yen film is Painted Skin. I went in expecting it to be quite good, based on the reviews I had seen, but it was almost completely uninteresting and seemed to drag on much too long.
Highlander: Endgame, because it played with a small experimentation between different styles of action. And to be honest, at the time, Donnie Yen’s action scenes were the only things exciting about that movie in the 2 scenes he fought Adrian Paul.
Whoa. I had forgotten about Endgame. I don’t count his Crystal Hunt/Satan Returns days. Iron Monkey 2 was really really bad. I’m going to say Blade of Kings. Some don’t count it as a “Donnie” movie, since he wasn’t the main character. I also didn’t like Painted Skin or Empress and the Warriors. Anyway, me me me I want the 14 Blades. I did like that one.
Blade 2, because that is the only one I’ve actually seen w/ him in it.

My least favorite Donnie Yen movie is The Founding of a Republic! And while it wasn’t terrible for what it was…but It wasn’t what I had hoped it to be. It was a historic drama, instead of an action film. I was hoping it was action packed. But it had little action in the movie.
I have not seen 14 Blades yet. it looks pretty good. well my least favorite Donnie Yen film is WING CHUN. the movie had a good cast but it was way to cheesy for me.
Donnie yen doesn’t have any bad movies and they all rock.
iron monkey 2 was pretty bad
My least favorite Donnie Yen movie would be Bodyguards and Assassins, I liked the movie but the action just wasnt that great for me.
My least favorite Donnie Yen movie would ,be Dragon Inn,it did not not have enough fight scenes to high light his fighting skills.
definitely one of the hollywood movies, i’m leaning towards highlander endgame. blade II was at least an early del-toro movie, though both could have used a lot more donnie action!
Iron Monkey 2 gets a lot of hate (and rightfully so) but man I could not even bother to finish Seven Swords. Tsui Hark can go either way with me and in that one he went a way I couldn’t dig on. I loved them together on Dragon Inn tho so who knows.
My least favorite Donnie Yen movie is Hero. Simply because he was not the hero.
Ballistic Kiss would have to do it for me. It has been a very long time since I watched it, but the bits and pieces I do remember is far from great. The story and acting was atrocious, and Donnie’s portrayal of a stalkerish hitman without a purpose in life is mediocre.
I would probably have to go with Holy Virgin Vs. the Evil Dead. I liked it a lot when I was younger but I tried watching it again recently and mannnn does it stink.

No doubt it’s Iron Monkey 2. It shouldn’t be sequel to the one of the top classic martial films. It does not deserve to be called number 2. It should be a completely different film. Bad action sequences, bad acting… it’s horrendous. It’s one of the worst Donnie Yen films.

Of what I have seen, Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zen is my least favorite. The action was cool, but the story and dialogue were all over the place. I know Donnie is a big fan of Bruce Lee, but when he tries to imitate Bruce, then add he usually Donnie Yen-isms and moves, it gives off the wrong vibe, kind of hard to explain. When Jet Li did Fist of Legend, it felt completely different and all Jet’s unique style. Donnie’s Legend of the Fist felt part mockery, part self-cash in. Paying homage is one thing, I get that, but it just didn’t blend together, at least for me.
That’s a trick question. There’s such thing as a bad Donnie Yen.
