On August 26, 2025, 88 Films is releasing the Blu-ray for The Cat, 1992 Golden Harvest Hong Kong thriller from director Lam Nai-Choi (The Story of Ricky, The Peacock King).
The Cat is an adaptation of the novel Old Cat by Ni Kuang. In the film, a cat from outer space teams up with a young alien girl and her knight, along with an adventure novelist named Wisely, to fight a murderous alien that possesses people.
The Cat stars Gloria Yip Wan-Yee (Miracles), Waise Lee Chi-Hung (The Big Heat), Christine Ng Wing-Mei (Will Power), Lau Siu-Ming (Possessed), Lawrence Lau Sek-Yin (Operation Scorpio), Phillip Kwok Chun-Fung (Seven Warriors), and Ni Kuang (Skinny Tiger and Fatty Dragon).
