I’m tempted to call this my favorite Jet Li movie not just because the action is great, but because it tells a good story about friends coming together to overthrow an evil regime while also dealing with best friends dealing with betrayal and greed.

I guess I don’t need the shitty release that Brett Ratner poisons in the special features.

    • Ska Martes says:

If the Fist of Legend release is anything to go by, talentless creepy Ratner will defintely show up in this release. Shame cos the actual movie itself will look great (probably) and be the actual HK version.

Now waiting for the eventual release of Fong Sai Yuk 1 and 2 without all the cuts Weinstein made. The last uncut copy I think was a crappy Universe DVD back in the late 90s!!!!

  2. Typo says:

2009 French DVDs (HK VIDEO) for Fong Sai-yuk I & 2 are totally uncut.

  3. Eric says:

Wake me up when they’ll release Born To Defence (yes, with a c !).

  4. Ska Martes says:

The picture quality on this , especially the 4K, is really really good. For anyone that thinks theres no difference between 4k and 1080p check out this release. The 4k has awesome looking fine grain which just looks so cinematic and looks like a “proper film” and not another Netflix Friday release while the regular bluray looks good in certain shots but messy in others cos it doesn’t handle the fine film grain as well .

Even the HDR works in the movie’s favor which is not always the case.

Not a perfect release….it doesnt even has an audio commentary but a huge upgrade of the Dragon Dynasty version. No more goofy looking font on the opening title sequence

  5. Andrew Hernandez says:

I find it interesting that Jet Li was going to star in Crime Story before his agent was shot by gangsters and he chose Tai Chi Master instead. If he had been in that film, would someone else have starred in Tai Chi Master? Would he have done it after Crime Story if they were willing to postpone? Film history could have been different!
