In November, 88 Films’ is releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) collection for the Shaw Brothers Triple Feature, which includes 1970’s Vengeance, 1971’s The Deadly Duo, and 1983’s Holy Flame of the Martial World.
Vengeance is every bit as blood-soaked as you’d expect from master director Chang Cheh (Heroes Two), as superstar David Chiang (Shaolin Mantis) battles to take down the snakes who killed his brother.
Chiang returns as one of The Deadly Duo alongside the legendary Ti Lung (The Kung Fu Instructor); they’re patriotic rebels struggling to free their prince from the clutches of the evil invaders.
Finally, the eye-popping extravaganza of Holy Flame of the Martial Arts World sets good wizards against wicked sorcerers in a crazy epic battle – and no one did over-the-top movie magic better than Shaw Brothers.
