Li Han-hsiang was among the most influential directors of Chinese cinema, helming over 70 films across a five-decade career. A multi-time Golden Horse Award winner and Cannes Film Festival Award winner, he had roots as a painter and set designer, which gave his films a striking visual presence and saw him explore countless genres – including Huangmeidiao opera adaptations, historical costume dramas, fengyue films, and erotica.
This first volume of Li Han-hsiang’s erotic films showcases three sensual 70s Shaw Brothers entries, each ready to intrigue and arouse:

Nikkatsu is recognised as Japan’s oldest film studio, founded in 1912 when four smaller production companies merged, and still active today. Renowned for creating some of the most boundary-pushing cinema in history, they created the ‘Roman Porno’ movement in the 70s, a sub-genre known for mixing sex, violence, and romance, elevating the merely explicit into an art form.
This first volume features two erotic fascinations directed by Tatsumi Kumashiro:

- Lovers Are Wet (1973)
