Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists) is prepping an official release for One Spoon of Chocolate, an upcoming thriller he directed, wrote, and produced.
The film is being released through 36 Cinema Distribution (aka 36 Cinema), a division of 36 Chambers, the lifestyle brand launched by RZA with business partner Mustafa Shaikh. The movie is getting some marketing push from RZA’s Kill Bill collaborator Quentin Tarantino, who has come aboard to present the film (Rolling Thunder Pictures-sploitation!).
One Spoon of Chocolate centers on an ex military convict who tries to start a new life in a quiet small town. Just as he begins to find love and a sense of peace, his past returns and pulls him back into violence and chaos (via Deadline).
The film stars Shameik Moore (Dope), Blair Underwood (Set It Off), RJ Cyler (Power Rangers), Paris Jackson (Sex Appeal), Emyri Crutchfield (Just Breathe), Michael Harney (Captivity), and Harry Goodwins (Angels vs Bullies).
The stunt coordinator and action choreographer for One Spoon of Chocolate is handled by David M. Morizot (Season of the Witch, Black Panther).
Hot Take: This film mixes martial arts action with classic exploitation cinema. And coming from RZA, who helped weave kung fu movies into hip hop through Wu-Tang Clan, we expect this to be a tasty spoonful.
One Spoon of Chocolate hits U.S. theaters on May 1, 2026 via Variance Films. Watch the Trailer below:
