When I first watched Under Siege in the theater, I noticed the movie had been cut. I would not buy this restoration until I have assurance that those cuts had been restored.
What were the cuts?
The kill count included two enemies whose death scene (I assume, in a fight with Steven Seagal) was not included in the movie. Also, the two ships were close together, and then they were far apart. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the movie, but I remember those.
Interesting. I saw it in the theaters myself, but can’t say I’m able to point out scene specific cuts etc when I watched future releases on DVD, etc.
I don’t understand, how would you know the movie you watched in a theater was “cut”? Did you see another version at a test screening prior to the official theatrical release? Even if you did why would you expect the theatrical release to be unaltered from an earlier version? And, as someone else already asked, if you remember a longer version what scenes were cut?
Damn it. They got me at “director & writers’ commentary track”, Seagal’s movies (at least the “good” ones, his first few) were always given bare bones releases when they went to home video! Just when I was thinking, ok, this time I mean it, I’m going to cut back on buying movies on blu ray, 2026 is going to be a more financially responsible year, Arrow announces something like this! Damn it!
Yeah, this is a huge deal. this might be the first true “special edition” Seagal movie ever, if not the first one on 4K.
