Now shipping from Goodie Emporium is the Blu-ray (Region A/B) for On the Run, a 1988 Hong Kong thriller directed by Alfred Cheung (Her Fatal Ways).
It should be noted that 88 Films did release a UK-only Blu-ray for On the Run (Region B) back in 2023, but this new Blu-ray is being introduced as both a UK/US (Region A/B) release (with new artwork by Sean Longmore), which essentially makes it a fresh product for U.S. audiences. If you own the 2023 UK disc, be sure to hold onto it, because it has the solid value as being the first “real” production run (with unique artwork by Kung Fu Bob O’Brien).
In the aftermath of his wife’s brutal murder, struggling cop Heung Ming (Yuen Biao, Zu: Warriors from Magic Mountain) is forced to go into hiding after discovering corruption in the ranks. His only ally is a deadly assassin Chui (Pat Ha, The Woman Knight of the Mirror Lake) as they each try to avoid arrest, and even death.
On the Run also features Charlie Chin (Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars), Lo Lieh (The Face Behind the Mask), Yuen Wah (Police Story 3: Supercop) and Philip Ko Fei (Dragon Blood).
