Martial arts star Scott Adkins (John Wick 4, Ip Man 4, Triple Threat) is teaming up with Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) in Signature Entertainment’s Take Cover, an upcoming film helmed by director Nick McKinless, who perhaps best known for his stunt work on Fast X, Gangs of London and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Take Cover revolves around a burned-out professional sniper who finds himself trapped in an all-glass penthouse by a lethal competitor and must find a way to survive and escape with little to no cover between him and the killer.

Written by Joshua Todd James (Pound of Flesh), the film also stars Billy Clements (Meg 2: The Trench), Jack Parr (Peaky Blinders), Madalina Bellariu Ion (Sacrificiul), Obie Matthew (Cruella) and Alba De Torrebruna (Apartment in Athens).

Take Cover hits theaters and On Demand on October 4th. Watch two New action clips from the film, followed by its recent Trailer below:

  1. John Wick says:

Big fan of the John Wick franchise. Excited for the next chapter! Kudos to the team.

  2. Andrew Hernandez says:

If everything goes well, this is what Everly should have been more like.

I know a bunch of people at COF do, but it wasn’t my kind of “girls with guns” film. I liked parts of it, but it was missing some key ingredients for me while some other ingredients didn’t sit too well.

I’m glad people are doing more with the concept of a protagonist trapped in a room while fighting off waves of challenges.

I rented Take Cover on Vudu a few days ago, and it’s decent. Certainly much better than Seized and Legacy of Lies which it could have ended up as under lesser circumstances. It could have been just as good as Close Range if it weren’t for some bad characters and inconsistencies.

Ken Parr’s character is a total douchebag who tries way too hard to be a cool smart-ass, and it’s difficult to believe that this guy is supposed to be Scott’s best friend. When the plot gets going, a pair of masseuses get caught up in the foxhole, and they do not ad much to the proceedings.

The one who Scott develops a “relationship” with, Madalina Bellariu Ion comes across as full of shit with the way she tries to read people and know their deepest thoughts while also making poor decisions and being judgmental.

There’s a good amount of action, and it’s commendable that the production made it work with what was probably a rushed shoot. Often times, short filming schedules mean that there’s no quality control, but we had some decent fight scenes and shoot-outs. It was funny how one of the henchmen, Renars Latkovskis is seen as the concierge, but you can tell just by looking at his thick mass, that he was gonna try to kill the main characters soon. He was about as convincing as Dolph Lundgren playing an unsuspecting clerk.

With Scott taking more control of his productions now, hopefully he’ll keep a good streak going.
