Iron Monkey | Blu-ray (Shout! Factory)

On February 14, 2023, Shout! Factory will be releasing the Blu-ray (Region A) for Yuen Woo-ping’s 1993 martial arts film, Iron Monkey (aka Iron Monkey: The Young Wong Fei Hong).
Iron Monkey is a fictionalized account of folk hero Wong Fei-hung (Sze-Man Tsang), his father Wong Kei-ying (Donnie Yen of Special ID), and their encounter with Iron Monkey (Yu Rongguang of Champions). The film also stars Jean Wong Ching Yin (Once Upon a Time in China 4) and Yen Shi Kwan (The Fearless Hyena).
In Iron Monkey, a martial artist/doctor steals from the corrupt authorities as a masked thief to give to the poor while another martial artist/doctor is forced to hunt him down. But a major threat unites them as a powerful and traitorous shaolin monk takes over the authorities.

Great film & I’m a huge fan of Donnie Yen. I already own the Eureka release so I hope we get some new bonus features
Wouldnt be an American release if it didnt have the most plain box art. Seems like the only time a Shout release was GREAT was when Kung Fu Bob did the Street Fighter box.
While I’ll always prefer some King Fu Bob, I dig the simplicity of this one. It’s better then the old black background, anyway.
