On April 5, 2024, Netflix will stream Parasyte: The Grey, the latest from writer/director Yeon Sang Ho (Psychokinesis), the visionary filmmaker behind the 2016 hit Train to Busan and its 2020 follow up Peninsula.
The upcoming series is based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s best-selling Japanese manga Parasyte (Kiseiju) and will star Jeon So-nee (Jo Pil-Ho: The Dawning Rage), Koo Kyo-hwan (Escape from Mogadishu), Lee Jung-hyun (Peninsula), Kwon Hae-Hyo (Tazza: One Eyed Jack) and Kim In-Kwon (Revenger).
When unidentified parasites violently take over human hosts and gain power, humanity must rise to combat the growing threat.

Good luck!
The anime is awesome. The two live action movies are OK.
The japanese Live Action movies were good. Yeon Sang-Hos output after Train To Busan was not convincing at all. It’s probably an “okeish netflix filler”.
I’ve said it many times, Yeon Sang-ho is the most overrated director in Korea. I enjoyed his animation work, but haven’t rated any of his live action stuff (including ‘Train to Busan’), and don’t expect this will change my mind (although I’d gladly eat my words!).
The anime was and still is awesome. A classic. The two live ones are OK, not great but OK.
So I won’t watch it. I’ll stick with the anime.
“visionary filmmaker”: I think we can now safely say that the “visionary filmmakers” outnumber the “visionary impaired” ones!
And in a few years, every director on Earth will be a “visionary filmmmaker”.
I can’t wait for all those visionary remakes/sequels/prequels/reboots/new adaptations!
Train to Busan: 7/10. Good, but not great. His animation movies are his best ones, well, his first two animated movies: King of pigs and The fake.
But I REALLY like Peninsula A LOT. I’ve watched it already three times. So…
