Song Kang-ho (Parasite, Secret Reunion), Gang Dong-won (Peninsula, A Violent Prosecutor) and Bae Doona (Drug King, Tunnel) will be appearing together in CJ Entertainment’s Broker.
The film will mark the Korean directing debut of Hirokazu Kore-eda (Like Father, Like Son), a Japanese filmmaker known for the acclaimed 2018 film, Shoplifters.
Broker is the story of individuals whose lives become intertwined around a mysterious ‘Baby Box’, which is a box designed to allow people who are unable to raise children to deposit their babies anonymously.
Broker begins shooting in 2021. For now, we leave you with the Trailer for Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Shoplifters:
Wow, THAT’s intrtrsting!
Interesting indeed! Bae Doona has worked with Kore-eda before on 2009’s ‘Air Doll’, so it’ll be interesting to see how this turns out. I’m having some difficulty imagining the likes of Song Kang-ho and Gang Dong-won adjusting their natural charisma to the directors typically languid and understated style, but we’ll see!
