In the mood for Blood ‘n Cripps? Blu-ray for the 1979 cult Kung Fu oddity ‘Crippled Masters’ now available!

Now shipping from Goodie Emporium is Film Masters’ Special Edition Blu-ray (Region A) for The Crippled Masters (not to be confused with 1978’s Crippled Avengers), a 1979 martial arts/exploitation film from director Joe Law (The Lost Secrets of Kung Fu).

The Crippled Masters features two genuinely handicapped martial artists: Shun Chung-Chuen (Two Crippled Heroes) and Thomas Hong Chiu-Ming (Fighting Life). Chen Mu-Chuan (Jade Fox) also stars.

Two men skilled in the arts of Kung Fu are betrayed by their master and crippled for life, one left with no arms and the other with no legs. Despite their obvious disadvantages, they learn to combine their martial arts skills and seek revenge against the evil master.

This restoration debuted on Turner Classic Movies for their “Disability in the Movies” programming in July of 2023. This print was sourced from the collection of author and film curator, Jack Stevenson in Copenhagen, Denmark, where is what scanned into 2K before extensive restoration was done.

Features:

  • Liner notes by Lawrence Carter-Long
  • Full Commentary track by Will Sloan and Justin Decloux of The Important Cinema Club
  • New documentary by Ballyhoo Motion Pictures
  • Original trailer recut using restored film elements
  • Festival of Kung Fu Trailers

This title is now available at The Goodie Emporium, a U.S.-based online store that currently has many Import Shaw Brothers/Golden Harvest/martial arts DVD/Blu-ray movies in-stock – with New titles being added regularly!
