“Ju-On”: the name given to a deadly curse spawned when someone dies in the grip of a violent rage. All who come into contact with it are doomed… Collected together for the first time, writer-director Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Grudge series represents the flesh-crawling pinnacle of Japanese chillers that swept the globe at the turn of the millennium.

The films introduce the anonymous family house in the suburbs of Tokyo where an unspeakable evil lingers alongside its residents, the ghastly mother-son pairing of Kayoko and Toshio Saeki. Shimizu’s disconcerting approach to plotting, unnerving eye for the uncanny details in the dark corners of the frame and an innate talent for effective jump scares Continue reading

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker (and Mike Tyson) in high gear for ‘Rush Hour 4’?

"Rush Hour 3" Japanese Theatrical Poster

“Rush Hour 3” Japanese Theatrical Poster

For the last 10 years, both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker (Rush Hour 1-3) have kept the possibility of a Rush Hour 4 in the air. But now, the 4th installment of the successful action comedy is a lot closer to reality than ever, at least according to Jackie himself.

Jackie made a rare on-stage appearance at last year’s Red Sea Film Festival, where he told fans that he is currently in talks to make a fourth Rush Hour movie. “We’re talking about part 4 right now,” he told the festival crowd, adding that he was going to meet with the film’s director this evening to discuss the script. He did not identify said director, but American filmmaker Brett Ratner directed all three previous versions (via Deadline).

Jackie also mentioned that former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world, Mike Tyson (Ip Man 3, Kickboxer: Retaliation), would Continue reading

The Five Best Gangster Movies Of All-Time

Gangster films are among the most popular movies on the planet. Long have we enjoyed thrillers around the Mob or psychological dramas delving into the minds of crime lords. Hollywood has long been living off the tales, and they continue to do so, producing some fantastic movies in the process, including The Traitor and The Irishman more recently.

With gangster films, you get many actors and directors who have carved themselves a niche within them, from the likes of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, to Bob Hoskins and Ray Winstone on British soil.

But what are the best gangster films of all time? We run through five of our favourites…

The Long Good Friday

The Long Good Friday gave Bob Hoskins his breakthrough role as well as providing Helen Mirren with one of her more iconic early roles. Released in 1980, it follows Harold Shand, a London gangster who is planning to redevelop parts of the city’s Docklands.

In order to do so, the American Mafia are involved, but it’s not smooth sailing for them, with the IRA and rival gangsters seemingly devout on destroying those plans, including Pierce Brosnan in his first film role.

Such was the accuracy of Hoskins as Shand, it’s believed he was even congratulated on his performance by one of the Kray Twins.

Casino

Casinos have long been a popular part of Hollywood too, and Casino delves into the gambling scene of the 1970s and 80s. It’s a time very different to now, where more people are enjoying online gambling sites like casino777.nl than in the casinos of Las Vegas, but it was the perfect backdrop to Martin Scorsese’s epic gangster movie.

Released in 1995, it saw the director join forces with Robert De Niro once again, with the actor playing a casino boss appointed by the Mob. But like any gangster film, trouble is on the horizon as the Mafia’s grip on the city lessens and lessens.

The Godfather

The greatest gangster film in history undoubtedly comes from Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. Starring Marlon Brando, the movie is completely timeless and has some of the most iconic scenes in gangster movie history. Many have tried to replicate, but none can compete.

Everything about it just oozes class and it will be a movie that is never knocked from top spot in this category.

Goodfellas

This Scorsese masterpiece is his finest piece of filmmaking and is a fast paced classic that sees De Niro in another brilliant gangster role, starring alongside Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. It’s a movie that inspired the likes of The Sopranos and much of Quentin Tarantino’s work, and the film itself is adapted from the 1985 book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, who also wrote the screenplay.

It won multiple awards, with Joe Pesci taking an Oscar for his supporting role, while it cleaned up at the BAFTAs and to this day is considered one of the best and most influential movies ever.

Sexy Beast

There are so many other films that could have made the cut in a final five, not least The Godfather Part II, but we didn’t want to include other parts of franchises, and it would be a travesty to leave out Sexy Beast, another British gangster classic.

Starring Ray Winstone, this 2000 movie is all about his character trying to settle into retirement. And he is certainly doing that, out in Spain, until Don Logan turns up, a psychotic gangster played by the great Ben Kingsley. He makes Winstone an offer, which ultimately cannot be turned down in what is one of the most intense movies of all-time in the genre.

5 Things You Need To Know About Buying Ammo

Buying ammo for your gun has never been easier.

Modern technology makes buying ammo online as simple as buying a pair of shoes on Amazon. But like all things in life, there’s more than meets the eye to buying ammo.

For those looking to stock up on ammo or begin reloading their own, it’s important to research the different types of ammunition and their different uses.

So what do you need to know about buying ammunition? Follow along below to learn more!

1. Different Types of Ammo Available on the Market

Ammunition comes in a variety of styles and types of cartridges, depending on the purpose and end-use. Commonly used rounds of ammunition today include shotgun shells, which come in several gauges and dram equivalents. Centerfire rifle rounds range from the tiny .22 Long Rifle to the powerful magnums, and even larger cartridges.

There are also some exotic rounds for specialized purposes. Some of them excel in accuracy and range, while others are designed for maximum energy and penetration.

2. Considerations for Choosing the Best Ammunition

First, consider the size and weight of the bullet, as this can affect the speed, accuracy, and trajectory of the bullet upon firing. Second, the intended use should be taken into account. For instance, the type of weapon and its overall performance should factor into the selection process.

Third, consider the kind of materials that are used in the bullet, as some materials such as lead and copper may have different benefits and drawbacks.

3. The Cost of Buying Ammo

The cost of buying ammo can vary greatly depending on the different kinds of ammo you are looking for. For example, basic rounds such as 9mm, .45ACP, and .40 S&W can be found for relatively inexpensive prices compared to specialty rounds or high-powered rifle or shotgun rounds.

Additionally, the cost of buying ammo can be influenced by where you purchase it, as some stores offer lower prices than others.

The cost of buying ammo can also go up depending on current market trends, such as during times of conflict, as demand generally increases. Now, if you want to purchase in bulk, click for more and look for online deals that can help decrease the cost of buying ammo.

4. Places to Buy Ammo

Online retailers, sports stores, and gun shops are great places to buy ammo. When it comes to online retailers, the process is relatively straightforward; simply search for the ammo you need, choose a reputable source, and make your purchase. Sports stores are another great option as they usually carry a variety of ammo and can even take special orders.

If you’re looking for something more specialized, a gun shop is a great choice. Here you’ll find knowledgeable staff and a wide selection of ammo and reloading supplies. Remember to always follow the law when purchasing ammo and always store it securely.

5. How to Store and Dispose of Your Ammo Properly

Ammo should always be stored in a secure container, such as a locked cabinet or safe, and kept away from children and untrained individuals.

Guns and ammunition are dangerous, so their disposal should only be carried out by trained personnel.

Everything You Should Know About Buying Ammo

Buying ammo should never be taken lightly – make sure you do your research and understand both local and state regulations. Numerous sources are offering great deals, but it is up to you to select the cheapest, safest, and most reliable ammo for your needs.
