With dozens of credits as a cinematographer and director, Herman Yau (Shock Wave, Shock Wave 2, The Untold Story, Ebola Syndrome, Taxi Hunter) is one of the most prolific filmmakers ever to have worked in Hong Kong cinema, and how he’s back with Moscow Mission (aka Moscow Robbery).

This upcoming actioner stars Andy Lau (Firestorm, The Adventurers), Zhang Hanyu (Operation Mekong, Manhunt), Huang Xuan (Extraordinary Mission) and Janice Man (Nessun Dorma).

Set in the early 1990’s after the dissolvement of the Soviet Union, criminal enterprises between China and Russia flourished. On the train that services Beijing to Moscow, a gang of criminals perform a heist, stealing cash and goods. A Chinese police officer, disguised as a businessman, takes charge to lead the operation to arrest these criminals, but uncovers a wider conspiracy. This movie is based on a real-life case (via MAAC).

Moscow Mission hits domestically on September 29, 2023, and on October 5, 2023 in select U.S. theaters from CMC Pictures. Don’t miss the New International Trailer below:

    Herman Yau has turned into Danle Lam-lite. I miss the Yau that did films like herbal tea and from thequeen to the chief executive
