RELEASE DATE: August 24, 2021
On August 24th, Well Go USA is releasing the Blu-ray & DVD for Jacky Lee’s The Fatal Raid (aka Special Female Force 2: The Fatal Raid), the sequel to the 2016 flick, Special Female Force (read our review), which itself was a remake of the Jackie Chan-produced 1986 Golden Harvest classic, The Inspector Wears Skirts.
In The Fatal Raid (read our review), two elite police teams head up a secret operation following a dangerous smuggling ring across the Macau border, but when their presence is discovered, the mission ends in a deadly firefight. Twenty years later, an escort mission brings the survivors back to the scene of the tragedy — and fosters a highly unwelcome reunion.
The Fatal Raid debuted at the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) and includes an all-new English dub.
The film stars Patrick Tam (Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy), Michael Tong (God of War), Jade Leung (Fox Hunter), Jeana Ho (The Gigolo), Hidy Yu (Kick Ass Girls), Kristy Yang (League of Gods), Michael Tong (God of War) and Malaysian pop artist, Lin Min Chen.

Poor Jade Leung. I wish she wasn’t stuck doing these bargain bin throwaways. I recently watched Satin Steel and it was a pretty decent flick. I know some people like Black Cat, but it wasn’t for me. Enemy Shadow wasn’t so good, and I can’t find Fox Hunter anywhere at a good price.
You mean the bargain bin films she has done her whole career?
While most of her filmography isn’t good, she did use to be in larger budgeted films that made more use of her, and she had a large presence. Maybe this title will have decent action, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Those girls are HOT!
That trailer really oversells the movie… Most of the action in there is from one scene, which is exciting, but the rest of the movie not so much. Well Go USA should consider releasing older Asian action flicks that are lost to time, like Fox Hunter, which is probably the best movie Jade Leung has ever done.

After finally tracking down Fox Hunter, I found it to be almost good, but I agree with everyone else in that Jordan Chan’s whining man-baby character ruined the movie. I especially agree with brns.com’s blurb about how a dentist drill is more tolerable.
But it’s true that Jade Leung had a certain something that made her a convincing star.
Thanks. I am glad there are others out there who still remember and appreciate Jade Leung. I do dig up your old reviews from time to time before I check out an oldie I haven’t seen before.
I don’t know what’s going on in Hong Kong, but a lot of their movies over the past decade or so have been disasters. Yeah, there’s been a few gems here and there including Ip Man 4 and Paradox, but unless the film has Donnie Yen’s name on it, It’s generally not going to be that good, and even he’s had a couple of misfires over the years. This one looks as generic as it gets.
