On March 30, 2021, MVD will release the Blu-ray & DVD for Falcon Rising (read our review), a 2014 actioner directed by Ernie Barbarash (Abduction, Assassination Games) and starring Michael Jai White (Triple Threat, Blood and Bone, Black Dynamite).
John “Falcon” Chapman (White), a dark anti-hero driven by guilt and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, who will destroy himself unless given something else to destroy – a useful weapon-of-last-resort for the U.S. State Department. When Chapman’s sister is brutally attacked while on assignment in Brazil, Chapman flies into Sao Paulo to track down her assailants, quickly entering the city’s seedy underbelly and discovering a world of drugs, the sex trade, corrupt cops, and organized crime syndicates battling for control.

An early contender for the most random release of 2021.
I read on Blu-ray.com that it was supposed to be a part of MVD’s Rewind series. I’m guessing it was an error since the film isn’t even 10 years old!
One of my fav MJW flicks and already own the DVD. But where’s the next installment of Agent Code Named Falcon? Wasn’t this pitched as the first of a series?
Yeah I remember it being pitched as the beginning of a franchise as well, but I think even by DTV standards this one flopped. I thought it was ok, and if they’d upped the ante would definitely have been in for a 2nd round.
Great news I’ve always loved this movie, along with undisputed 2 and blood & blood one of his best films
