Arriving on December 13, 2026 from Arrow Video is the 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray for Pedicab Driver, a 1989 Hong Kong Golden Harvest classic directed by and starring Sammo Hung (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, Eastern Condors). Secure your copy today at Goodie Emporium!
An outlandish mix of slapstick, romance, drama and high-voltage kung fu from legendary martial arts filmmaker Sammo Hung (The Prodigal Son). Pay the fare and take the ride in Pedicab Driver!
Lo Tung (Hung) and his friend Malted Candy (Max Mok, Once Upon a Time in China II–V) are lowly pedicab drivers looking for love in old Macau, where life is hard and one brawl leads to another. But when they each meet their perfect love match, their romantic dreams hit a wall of harsh reality as both women work for cruel and abusive bosses. Now Lo and Malted Candy must figure out how to win their ladies’ hearts while helping them escape the chains of societal slavery.
Producer/director/star Sammo Hung is joined by a colourful ensemble cast that includes Lau Kar-leung (Drunken master II), Nina Li Chi (The Gambling Ghost), Billy Chow (The Blonde Fury), Lam Ching-ying (Mr. Vampire), Corey Yuen (Dance of the Drunken Mantis), Dick Wei (Final Run), Mang Hoi (Legacy of Rage), Billy Lau (Police Story Part II), John Shum (Guns of Dragon) and Eric Tsang (Crazy Couple), serving up a thick slice of expertly choreographed chaos that will simultaneously break your heart and split your sides in laughter in this long overdue 4K restoration.
Of course, expect nothing less than peak stuntwork and choreography from Sammo Hung and his legendary Hong Kong stunt team.

🔥 Footnote: Warner Bros. has never made licensing titles from its Golden Harvest library particularly easy (they still own over a hundred titles), but that seems to be changing. This news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, especially in the wake of Arrow’s recent Jackie Chan’s Breakout Hits 10-disc collection, which managed to secure several notoriously difficult-to-license Jackie Chan films from the ’90s. That being said, Hong Kong physical media collectors have a lot to look forward to!
This title is available for pre-order at The Goodie Emporium, a U.S.-based online store that currently has many Import Shaw Brothers/Golden Harvest/martial arts DVD/Blu-ray movies in-stock – with New titles being added regularly!

This will be the biggest upgrade in my library. From a Mei Ah VCD in glorious 240i straight to 4K dolby vision. Arrow the only company not to mess around and make everyone double or triple dip.
This is great news. For years, I’ve been stuck with the Tai Seng VHS. Even though Warner Bros. DVD was a cheaply made disc with the subs acting like closed captions, I made a huge deal out of that since it was the best the movie looked up to that point.
Now we can have a release that feels like watching the movie for the first time again.
Oh, the good ole Tai Seng VHS! Yeah, the DVD was better, but the CC annoyed the shit out of me. First world problems, I know. This is gonna be a tremendous upgrade.
I’ll take it!
Even though I…still remember the “romantic part” wasn’t that great…
Sammo loves making, voes where women get smacked around.
I noticed this decades ago.
Thanks Arrow for the Blu-Ray!
Its not the worst coverart but it could have been alot better. Having Nina Li twice on the cover but reducing Fennie Yuen and Max Mok to the size of a postage stamp is definitely a choice.
Fantastic news long over due. Now just need the following –
Spooky Encounters 2
The Victim
Slickers Vs Killers
Panty Hose Hero
Other classics would love to see Arrow release
Legend of a fighter
Ninja in the Dragons Den
Outlaw Brothers
Tiger On the beat
License to steal
And The Mission
Please Arriw make these happen 🙏🙏🙏🙏
‘Tiger on the Beat’ has already had an excellent release from Imprint Asia back in July which is well worth picking up (it includes the sequel as well) –
