In February, 88 Films is releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) for Picture of a Nymph (aka Painting of a Nymph), a 1988 Hong Kong action-fantasy directed by Wu Ma (Showdown at the Cotton Mill).

Starring Yuen Biao (Millennium Dragon) in one of his most tender roles, this visually rich masterpiece of Hong Kong cinema captures the eternal struggle between passion, sacrifice and destiny.

Picture of a Nymph also stars Joey Wong (City Hunter), Wu Ma (Encounters of the Spooky Kind), Lawrence Ng Kai Wah (The Magic Crane), Elizabeth Lee Mei Fung (Blonde Fury), May Lo Mei Mei (Return Engagement), Fanny Sit Chi Lun (Her Vengeance), Yuen Wah (Kung Fu Vs. Acrobatic) and David Lam Wai (Bloody Brotherhood).

    It’s my first time watching this and sure, it’s a Chinese Ghost Story rip off which I’d gladly accept until A Chinese Ghost Story is release in English speaking territories.
