Die Hard in a hospital? Indonesian martial arts star Iko Uwais (The Raid, The Raid 2) is reuniting with director Liam O’Donnell (Skyline) for MRI. The two previously worked together on 2017’s Beyond Skyline and the upcoming Skyline: Warpath.
MRI centers on a broken-down hitman (Uwais) with a shattered family and a busted knee, who undergoes a routine MRI when the entire hospital is taken over by ruthless gangsters. Now, he’s the only man who can rescue their target, the daughter of a powerful crime boss, and somehow save the day, one agonizing step at a time. The script was written by Russell Hainline (Netflix’s Hot Frosty), via (Variety)
The same source addes that Daniel Baur’s K5 Intl. has acquired the international sales rights to the picture, which will launch at the American Film Market next month.
MRI shoots in Jakarta early next year. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more. Until then, here’s the Trailer for O’Donnell and Uwais’ 2017 film, Beyond Skyline:
