Australian-Vietnamese martial arts star Maria Tran (Last King of the Cross, Tiger Cop, Tracer) is back in Phoenix Eye’s Echo 8, an upcoming action thriller Tran also directs with fellow co-star and co-director, Takashi Hara (Ayotti).
In Echo 8, an assassin flashes between a nightmarish dream and her reality at a secret underground organization. When her latest mission involves killing a grieving mother, she discovers her target is closer to home than she realizes-much closer.
Echo 8 is described as “Australia’s first independent female-led action movie that is made possible by the community (your mums, dads, kids, neighbors and businesses) who have all relentless band together to create this”.
The film also stars Bobby Le (Operation Kung Flu), Mike Leeder (Ultimate Justice), Natasha Cheng (Thor: Love and Thunder), Susan Ling Young (24 Hours to Live), Gabrielle Chan (The Twelve) and Damien Sato (Rhapsody of Love).
Echo 8 is written by Elizabeth H. Vu (Wake); edited and produced by Therese Chen (Obsidian), Takashi Hara and Maria Tran; Adrian Castro (Tiger Cop, Nightwalkers TV series) serves as fight choreographer, as well as sound and music designer.
According to FCS, Echo 8 will be showcased at this weekend’s freshman Big Bad Film Fest action film festival. Until then, here’s the film’s Newest Trailer:
