Amy Johnston, a stunt professional who has more than paid her dues over the years. In addition to her stunt work on movies like Captain America: Winter Soldier (in which she doubled for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow), Suicide Squad and Deadpool, Johnston is a trained martial artist whose passion for the pursuit no doubt dates back to her childhood (her father was a kickboxing champion).

Her turn in Lady Bloodfight, along with her stunt work in movies, proved that Johnston possesses formidable fighting skills, and now she’s back to doing what she does best with Day Labor, an upcoming actioner from director R. Ellis Frazier (As Good As Dead, Repeater) that also stars Louis Mandylor (Debt Collectors, The Doorman).

Judging from the Trailer, we may not get a “martial arts film” per se, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get any hard-hitting action that can only be delivered the way a seasoned performer like Johnston can.

In the film, a Latino American veteran who seeks work as a day laborer in order to keep his family afloat. A regular day turns into a deadly game of survival when he is mistakenly dropped off at a private ranch in El Paso, Texas to be hunted for sport (via AF).

Day Labor also stars Corin Nemec, Roberto Sanchez, Danny Arroyo, fellow Ohioan Gary Cairns and Kevin Gage. Don’t miss the film’s Trailer below, ahead of its November 11 release date:

Hmm. Despite getting top billing on the poster, Johnston and Mandylor aren’t prominently featured. I hope fans of theirs aren’t going to be treated like poor saps who get tricked into watching this movie.
