David Leitch, the action filmmaker known for John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, is reuniting with Jason Statham (The Meg) for a new action-comedy titled Jason Statham Stole My Bike.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film will see Statham “in the role of a lifetime, playing global action superstar Jason Statham“. The budget is being set north of $80M, an increasingly rare proposition in the indie marketplace, and the project includes a number of major action set pieces. It’s being conceived as a PG-13 with tongue in cheek, per the movie’s meta title (via Deadline).
Co-stars include Eddie Peng (The Rescue), Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen), Artie Wilkison-Hunt (Masters of the Universe), Hannah Waddingham (The Fall Guy) and Abdul Jalloh (The Lies of Our Confines).
Jason Statham Stole My Bike is written by Alison Flierl, who is perhaps best known for her work with Conan O’Brien’s Conan and the School of Rock series. The film is produced by Black Bear (Shelter) and 87 North (Nobody).
The film is currently in post-production.

Color me excited. While I hope this is hilarious, I hope they put as much focus on the action as the comedy. And they’ve got to include The who’s who of stunt people that the fans love so much.
Totally unrelated to this but I cant find the original comment from Mr JJ Bona re spielberg and Disclosure day. I think you undersold how bad this movie is. I saw this on itunes expecting spielbrgian magic instead i got an incompetent goofy chase movie with unintentionally bad set pieces, terrible dialogue, zero chemistry and a stupid religion vs aliens (the ET kind not the ones that ICE have boners for) debate. The bit my friends laughed their arse off is when Colin Firth kept looking at a picture of the ex-nun and it looked like he was locked in and gooning like his life depended on it.
Spielberg should never make another summer blockbuster. The disappointment is too much to take LOL
Let me fix that.
I haven’t seen all of Spielberg’s movies, but I’ve seen most of them. That said, it has to be the worst film he’s ever made (even if someone was a no-name, first time director, I’d think it was bad). Spielberg managed to take great talent and somehow made them all unbearable. Emily Blunt speaking in tongues. Josh O’Connor and his lack of charisma. Sames goes for Eve Hewson. I can’t even remember the John Williams score, which is a bad sign. I can’t get the image of Colin Firth putting on that ridiculous mouthpiece out of my head. He’s basically doing Tchéky Karyo/Sean Bean-sploitation here, and Firth is overqualified for this type of role. Has anyone seen that Ice Cube War of the Worlds flick? I’m pretty sure Disclosure Day is the perfect companion piece to that flick.
P.S. This is probably where I’m going to lose you, but it’s still better than SINNERS.
I liked the first half of Sinners but when it decided to switch up genres like From Dusk to Dawn , it failed big time. Why are the vamps singing folk songs. Why is Jimi Hendrix in this movie. Why did the vamps not run for cover when the sun came up. Why did they not lean more into KKK explotation which instead seemed tacked on at the end for a happy ending. At the end of the day i didn’t really have much expectations of rthis so even though everyone loved it more than i did, I don’t really care enough.
On the other hand, the marketing for Disclosure Day hinted at a return to form and a later era classic. Instead we got a two and half hour reminder that Spielberg should have called it quits after Munich.
Loved Munich. I do have to disagree with SS calling quits after it, because he made World of the Worlds around the same exact time. I may be off a few hairs, but at this point, he 100% still had it.
War of the worlds was released a year before Munich, which although not perfect is still goated ,so I stick by my alternate timeline where Spielberg quits after Munich!
