RELEASE DATE: August 28, 2023
August 28, 2023, 88 Films is releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) for Double Impact, a 1991 action film directed by Sheldon Lettich (The Hard Corps) and starring martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme (The Bouncer).
Few things scream “90’s” quite like Jean-Claude Van Damme starring opposite himself in an action movie. After Van Damme’s breakout film Bloodsport (1988) which was quickly followed by popular hits like Cyborg (1989) and Kickboxer (1989), the Belgian martial arts legend returned for Double Impact (1991), presenting us with a dual-role piece of hi-octane fight fun.
Playing both Chad and Alex, two long-lost twin brothers who reluctantly join forces to fight the evil triads, the muscles from Brussels delivers twice the thrills in this fast action thriller which seldom disappoints.
The film also stars Geoffrey Lewis (Any Which Way You Can), Alonna Shaw (The Taking of Beverly Hills) and Bolo Yeung (Enter Three Dragons).

Looks to be the same features as the MVD release. (Which I need to get)
The thing I love about MVD Blu rays (ordered Death Warrant, Death Warrant,Lionheart (might not be MVD), Angel Town and Nemesis) is they have the original covers. As a collector with my own personal collection, you’d be surprised at how original artwork goes a long way. Indeed I wish the American Ninja movies had done such, as such was my only complaint. Indeed, I love that Shout did that with Friday The 13th, except for Part V which while terrible and easily the worst, the original VHS was awesome with the laser red coming out of the hockey mask. Still hoping Nightmare On Elm Street eventually gets a new Blu ray and we get the original VHS covers.
I don’t get why DVD omitted such artwork for generic pics of actors super imposed on some rippled torso. Anyway just my opinion.
I still wish we’d get a really great Sudden Death Blu ray.
Why don’t they show the unseen footage of the search scene between kara and daniel from double impact I mean if they have I’m willing to pay money for that scene the way how I want to see that scene is this way when the scene cuts to Griffith and Zhang listening to their then it shows kara pushing Daniel onto the office wall and crouching down on the office floor and putting her hands up Daniel’s skirt and then the scene cuts to Daniel feeling uncomfortable while kara rubbing up Daniel’s legs and then you see Daniel jump then kara gets off the office floor and pulls Daniel’s hair and aggressively lifts Daniel’s chin and whispers “now we can forget this ever happen ” then she tells Daniel to turn around and when Daniel turns around Kara tells Daniel that’s a good girl yeah and now. You can frisk me. I wish I could see all of the unseen, unedited versions of that scene.
