On July 8, 2020, Scorpion Releasing’s release of Death Warrant (read our review) will be hitting retail outlets.
Also known as Dusted, 1990 cult actioner is directed by Deran Sarafian (The Road Killers, Terminal Velocity), written by David S. Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight) and stars Jean-Claude Van Damme (aka The most ‘remade’ action star in the world).
In a violent and corrupt prison, a tough, decorated cop, Louis Burke (Van Damme), must infiltrate the hellish prison syste to find answers to a number of inside murders. What he finds is a struggle of life and death tied in to his own past. Will he prevail, or is he signing his own death warrant!?

I saw this for the first time recently.. It’s honestly pretty good. Not so much for the fights, but a decent atmosphere and aesthetic. The director had some MTV-film-clip visual style, which was pretty effective. Its an easy film to have not seen, I dont think it was released well in all teritories, something to do with originally being a Cannon film perhaps, just as they were going bust. Not sure.. But if you are a Van Damme fan, you will want to have at-least seen this once, if not have it in your collection .. The DVD releases are 4:3, and so a new transfer will be highly anticipated.
