Director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat (Hurdang), best known for his 2023 Hindi language martial arts actioner Kill, is gearing up to begin production on Amazon MGM’s Deadlocked, which will mark his Hollywood debut. Of course, this should not be confused with the upcoming Scott Adkins and Lewis Tan actioner of the same name.
Jamie Foxx (Day Shift) leads Deadlocked alongside Sasha Calle (The Rip), KiKi Layne (The Old Guard), Luke Hemsworth (Beast), Marko Zaror (John Wick: Chapter 4) and Tyrik Johnson (Dedicated to Morris Burke).
In the film, a grieving ex-Marine on jury duty must spring into action when a defendant’s daughter takes the courthouse hostage to free her father, turning a high-profile trial into a deadly standoff.
🔥 Footnote: Deadlocked’s plot is reminiscent of 1985’s Certain Fury, which follows two female defendants, played by Tatum O’Neal and Irene Cara, who instigate a bloody courtroom shootout with bailiffs and police.
We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about this project. Until then, here’s the Trailer for Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s Kill:
