An upcoming documentary about martial arts star Bolo Yeung (aka Yang Sze), titled Chinese Hercules: The Bolo Yeung Story, is set for release later this year.

Known mostly for his iconic roles as “Bolo” in Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon, and Chong Li in Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Bloodsport, Chinese Hercules: The Bolo Yeung Story is the story of the bodybuilder, martial artist and actor who wrote his own destiny and walked his own path. A legendary tale that’s never been told on-screen before…

Chinese Hercules: The Bolo Yeung Story is written and directed by actor/stuntman Azim Cem, with Pavel Nyziak (producer of Diamond Cartel), and Luke Brown (aka DragonClaws), serving as co-writer.

The documentary will feature archival footage, as well as interviews with industry names/stars such as Bob Wall (Enter the Dragon), Richard Norton (Millionaire’s Express, Future Hunters), John Salvitti (Flash Point), Peter Malota (Kill ’em All), and Matthias Hues (Ultimate Justice, Raging Thunder) – just to name a few.

          Hi Jason,

There is no Blu-Ray/DVD or Digital release as of yet. As soon as there is confirmation of one, CityOnFire.Com will know about it.

Can I just stress, this was only a Teaser trailer. A small sneek peak, there’s a hell of a lot more cotent still to come/be announced.

Dragon, is this still coming out by the end of the year? Or would you say early next year?

            • DragonClaw's says:

Hi JJ, it won’t be out by the end of the year sadly. On the positive side, we are still getting further interest from people. In regards to appearing/contributing to this doucumentary.

I posted this message last month in reponse to a similar question.

When we feel there’s nothing more we can add/contribute to the film. Then we will present it to the fans. Whom are a big reason for this production getting made.

This is a great idea and nice to see happening. Bolo certainly deserves a documentry as I’m sure his story will be interesting. Especially considering what he accomplished and contributed to the martial arts and film community. I cant imagine the kung fu film industry without him

  6. Alaric Williams says:

This a film that should have been made a long time ago. However, good things come to those who wait. Mr. Bolo Yeung is certainly deserving of a documentary. I for one am a lifetime fan of his work and he has always been my favorite Martial Artist. I cannot wait for the film to be released and I will certainly watch, rent, and buy it when it is officially released. He most definitely should be praised for his accomplishments and contributions to the martial arts and film community.
