Prison on Fire I-II | 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Shout)

In February 2026, Shout is releasing the 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray for the Prison on Fire collection, which includes 1987’s Prison on Fire and 1991’s Prison on Fire II – a double feature of gritty prison dramas from noted Hong Kong director Ringo Lam (Sky on Fire).

An explosive crime-drama that caused a sensation upon its release, Prison on Fire made audiences in Hong Kong both gasp for breath at its uncompromising violence and cry at the brotherly bond between the two leads (Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Ka Fei Leung, riveting as the inmates navigating the prison system).

In Prison on Fire II, Ching is a prisoner in a Honk Kong jail that has a large population of Mainland Chinese prisoners. When he escapes to see his young son, who’s been put in an orphanage, he’s set up by the vengeful chief of security, Zau, who arranges for Ching’s downfall at the hands of the Mainlanders and their leader, Dragon. Little does he know how much Ching and Dragon have in common…

Details are still pending, but we’ll keep you in the loop as we learn more.

Is this box art supposed to be meta. It looks like one of those witness/police drawings of a criminal where the likeness is absolutely zero. Where is Chow Yun Fat and the only reason I can see Leung Ka Fai is because he wears glasses in the movie.

One of the reasons to pick these movies up again is the collectability which again is zero if this is the artwork going forward.
