“Afterburn” Theatrical Poster
J.J. Perry, the action director best known for 2022’s Day Shift and 2024’s The Killer’s Game, is back with Afterburn, a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Dave Bautista (Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy).
After a massive solar flare destroys the Earth’s eastern hemisphere, an emboldened treasure hunter (Bautista) for hire adventures to Europe to uncover the coveted Mona Lisa, only to learn the world needs a hero more than it needs a painting.
Written by Nimród Antal (Predators), Afterburn is based on Scott Chitwood and Paul Ens’ graphic novel of the same name by Red 5 Comics.
The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson (xXx: Return of Xander Cage), Olga Kurylenko (Extraction 2), Daniel Bernhardt (The Matrix Resurrections) and Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones).
