“Timecop” Theatrical Poster
Later this year, Shout! is releasing a 4K Ultra HD for Timecop, a 1994 sci-fi actioner from director Peter Hyams (Enemies Closer, End of Days).
Starring martial arts superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme (Kill ‘Em All, The Bouncer), Timecop takes place in the near future where special officers traveled through time to arrest those who used “time travel” to commit crimes.
Based off the Dark Horse comic book of the same name, Timecop was one of Van Damme’s most successful films, both financially and critically. The film even spawned a short-lived 1997 TV series and the 2003 direct-to-DVD sequel Timecop 2: The Berlin Decision, which starred Jason Scott Lee (Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story).
Timecop also stars Ron Silver (Silent Rage) and Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).
