“Master with Cracked Fingers” Theatrical Poster
UK label Signal One Entertainment is preparing a Blu-ray (Region B) for an early 1973 Jackie Chan film (shot in 1971) titled Snake Fist Fighter, which also goes by the aliases Master with Cracked Fingers, Ten Fingers of Death and Cub Tiger From Kwang Tung (all contained different cuts).
After Jackie Chan found success in the late 70s with films like 1978’s Snake in the Eagles Shadow and Drunken Master, shady producers spliced in newer footage of Dean Shek, Simon Yuen, as well as a Jackie Chan lookalike, and marketed the 1971 material as a “New Jackie Chan Film”.
In Snake Fist Fighter, an old beggar from the woods secretly teaches Chien Fu kung fu as he can’t afford regular classes and his “dad” doesn’t want him fighting. He grows up, works as waiter and ends up fighting men from his town’s crime syndicate.
Snake Fist Fighter features appearances by Tien Feng (Fist of Fury), Kwan Yung-Moon (Dragon Lord), Shu Pei Pei (Thundering Sword), Chen Hung Lieh (Come Drink with Me), Chiang Kam (New Fist of Fury), Mars (Bruce Li The Invincible) and Yuen Biao (Righting Wrongs).
This title will soon be available at The Goodie Emporium, a U.S.-based online store that currently has many Import Shaw Brothers/Golden Harvest/martial arts DVD/Blu-ray movies in-stock – with New titles being added regularly!
