Julius Avery, the filmmaker behind 2014’s Son of the Gun and 2018’s Overlord, teams up with Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, The Expendables) for Samaritan, an urban “superhero” film that premiers on Amazon Video on August 26th.
Written by Bragi F. Schut (Season of the Witch, Ninjago, Threshold), Samaritan follows a young boy (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton) who learns that a superhero (Stallone), who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago, may in fact still be around.
Samaritan also stars Pilou Asbæk (Ghost in the Shell), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black), Moises Arias (The King of Staten Island), Sophia Tatum (I Am Not Okay with This) and Michael Aaron Milligan (Ozark).
