“Fight Back to School 2” Theatrical Poster
Currently in production is a remake of Gordon Chan’s 1991 action-comedy, Fight Back to School, which starred Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, CJ7), Ng Man Tat (Shaolin Soccer), Sharla Cheung Man (Cheetah on Fire), Roy Cheung Yiu Yeung (The Mission) and Paul Chun Pui (The Trough)
According to SHK, the new film is directed by Zhang Hao and features Wong Yat-Fei (Shaolin Soccer) and Law Kar-Yin (Forbidden City Cop).
The plot of the original followed A SWAT team leader who goes undercover at a high school to retrieve a stolen gun for his captain. Fight Back to School went on to become one of Hong Kong’s highest grossing films of 1991, and also spawned two successful sequels: 1992’s Fight Back to School II and 1993’s Fight Back to School III.
