Looking for some spear-slicing action? Donnie Yen’s ‘The Lost Bladesman’ arrives on Blu-ray from Imprint

On May 28, 2025, Imprint is releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) for The Lost Bladesman, a 2011 historical martial arts epic – starring Donnie Yen (Raging Fire) – from Felix Chong (Project Gutenberg) and Alan Mak (Integrity).

Ancient China is in turmoil. To unify the country, General Cao Cao – the real power behind the emperor – enlists the aid of the greatest warrior in the land, Guan. But when Guan’s loyalty comes into question, he is deemed too great a threat to live and must face the forces sent to destroy him.

    Not a horrible movie, but far from a good/pretty good/great Donnie Yen flick.

    If Imprint wants to put out “HK” titles and join the bandwagon, they should get better movies.

    Very underrated Donnie Yen gem. The movie, along with Sakra, has arguably the best weapons-based fight choreography done in Hong kong action cinema in recent years. I’m getting this Aussie bluray edition, for sure!
