Hong Kong action star Eddie Peng (Operation Mekong, The Rescue) and Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Saltburn) team up for The Healer, an upcoming action thriller that marks the feature directorial debut of stunt coordinator Can Aydin (The Fall Guy, Thunderbolts).
The cast also includes Smylie Bradwell (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping), Georgina Beedle (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Jameela Jamil (The Good Place).
The Healer follows a blind acupuncturist (Peng) who once lived as a trained killer but has since chosen a peaceful life. When a young patient named Soly (Bradwell) becomes the target of ruthless gang boss Dandy Lynch (Mitchell), he must return to his violent past to save the boy, using his heightened senses and knowledge of the human body to take on the criminal underworld.
Back in May, production wrapped in Budapest, Hungary, with Molly Hassell (The Crow, Return to Silent Hill) among the producers. Highland Film Group is handling international sales outside Asia, while CAA Media Finance is representing the film in the U.S. (via Variety).
🔥 Footnote: Aydin may be making his feature directorial debut, but he’s no stranger to action. His stunt and second unit credits include The Fall Guy, Thunderbolts and Obi Wan Kenobi. He’s also following a trendy path we’ve seen work before, with stuntmen like Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and David Leitch (Atomic Blonde) making the move behind the camera.
The Healer is currently in post production, but a trailer should be coming our way soon! In the meantime, check out Eddie Peng doing his thing in the 2014 martial arts thriller, Rise of the Legend:

Have no idea if this movie will be any good but Ewan Mitchell is great as the one eyed Targaryen who loves mommy too much.
