Chasing more from the ‘Sister Street Fighter’ star? Neon Eagle Video announces Blu-ray for the ‘The Great Chase’

In June of 2025, Neon Eagle Video is releasing a Blu-ray for The Great Chase, a 1975 martial arts actioner from director Norifumi Suzuki (Roaring Fire).

The Sister Street Fighter herself, Etsuko Shihomi (Bullet Train), stars as Shinobu Yashiro, an accomplished racecar driver who has a side hustle working undercover for the Japanese Defense Agency. Her latest assignment is to break up a heroin smuggling operation that may also be behind the murder of her father.

Directed with exuberance by exploitation expert Norifumi Suzuki, The Great Chase is an action packed, consistently surprising “pinky violence”-lite adventure caper filled with fights and explosions and with just a hint of sleaze to sweeten the deal. It’s also chock-full of oddball details that will keep you on your toes the entire 83 minute running time:

See! Singing lady wrestlers! Drug running, whip-wielding nuns! A blow-dart spewing assassin dressed like a Native American for no reason! A Nazi loving Catholic Bishop/drug-lord who sports a ratty bear suit to assault kidnapped girls! Witness! Etsuko (and her no-doubt underpaid double) do truly perilous and death-defying stunts! Hear! An absolutely banging funk-jazz soundtrack that propels the whole movie along at a breakneck pace!

Neon Eagle Video is delighted to bring you this amazing mid-70s action spectacle for the first time ever in the US and for the first time ever in the world on Blu-ray. This one has been unknown to most people for far too long. Get ready to have a new favorite film!
