“Blood: The Last Vampire” Japanese Theatrical Poster
South Korean superstar Jun Ji-hyun (aka Gianna Jun) – who is perhaps known for 2001’s My Sassy Girl, 2009’s Blood: The Last Vampire and 2015’s Assassination – will star in Tempest alongside Gang Dongwon (Broker, Peninsula, Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman).
Tempest will be directed by Kim Hee-Won (Queen of Tears, Little Women) off a script by Chung Seokyung (Decision to Leave). You can expect some good action pieces, since the project is being co-directed by Heo Myunghaeng (Badland Hunters, Roundup: Punishment).
Set in modern-day Korea, it follows Munju, a high-flying diplomat and former ambassador to the U.S., as well as Sanho, an international special agent. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind an attack that threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula (via Deadline).

She’s been in heaps of stuff after she got married – only counting starring roles there’s been ‘The Thieves’, ‘The Berlin File’, ‘My Love from the Star’, ‘Assassination’, ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’, ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North’, and most recently ‘Jirisan’.
Isn’t it common for actresses in Korea to retire after getting married? I thought Shin Eun-kyun for example retired sometime in 2005 before coming back in 2008.
I know it’s a cultural thing, but not one I agree with.
She did, but in Korea it’s more to do with personal choice than cultural expectation, there are plenty of actresses who have gotten married and continued to work.
