Amidst the chaotic onslaught of robbery and violence, Srimaya, a waitress at a cafe, dreams of a glamorous life as an actress. A chance meeting with a film director and his assistant leads to a life-changing series of events for Srimaya, as they take her on a thrilling adventure that finds the waitress-turned-actress transforming into the person Batavia City needs and deserves most: the consummate kick-ass superhero! Taking to the streets as Valentine, she becomes a role model to the people of Batavia, and a foil to the city’s lowlifes and ne’er-do-wells. But when a sinister masked villain emerges from the shadows of the night, Srimaya realizes that all of her vigilante exploits were a mere dress rehearsal for the ultimate showdown!

I heard of this. I thought it was a Thai production. Looks interesting, and has a decent idea on how to make a different comic book movie.
I think this was more of a legitimate attempt at an April Fools than our own effort! Kind of looks like a female version of ‘Jian Bing Man’, just minus Jean Claude Van Damme.
The English captions in that video are showing up as gibberish to me, yet the title has ENG on it. I hope the DVD isn’t like this.
I’m surprised Valentine has gotten a low reception. I thought it was pretty decent.
The movie is low budget and features a few unconvincing cgi effects, but it’s well paced and has a good amount of action. The editing and camera work isn’t perfect, but it never gets to a point where the fights are incomprehensible.
The fight scenes are like a PG-13 version of The Raid which might feel like a step back for others, but they’re well performed. Estelle Linden makes a for a good action star and it would be great to see her collaborate with Iko Uwais and company.
All in all, Valentine feels like a bunch of friends got together to film a movie, and they had more money than the usual YouTube crowd.
