“Street Fighter” Japanese Theatrical Poster

Kitao Sakura – an up and coming filmmaker who is perhaps best known for 2021’s Bad Trip, as well as a handful of episodes of 2023’s Twisted Metal series – has been tapped to direct Legendary Pictures’ live-action Street Fighter, which will be based on the classic Capcom video game of the same name.

The history of live-action Street Fighter films started in 1994 with the Steven E. de Souza/Jean-Claude Van Damme, which is regarded as one of Van Damme’s highest grossing films of all time, despite being panned by critics and fans alike.

Stuntman-turned director James Bamford (Supergirl series) rounds up newcomer Shaina West (Killer’s Game) for Jade, a martial arts actioner that’s now exclusively on Digital from Well Go USA!

Bamford is perhaps best-known for his stunt work on Watchmen, Blade: Trinity, as well as directing episodes of DC’s Arrow and Superman and Lois.

“Demon City” Netflix Poster

Hong Kong martial arts legend Sammo Hung (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In) is part of an all-star ensemble cast in Luo Yiwei’s Invincible Swordsman, a remake of Ching Siu-tung’s 1992 wuxia classic, The Swordsman II.
