Hidden Face (2024) Review

"Hidden Face" Theatrical Poster

“Hidden Face” Theatrical Poster

Director: Kim Dae-woo
Cast: Song Seung-heon, Cho Yeo-jeong, Park Ji-Hyun, Park Ji-Young, Park Sung-Geun
Running Time: 115 min.

By Paul Bramhall

Hidden Face marks the return of a long missing in action genre for not only Korea’s film industry, but cinema in general – the erotic thriller. While the jury is still out on if we’re currently in a new Puritan age of cinema, what can’t be denied is that sex has largely disappeared from the movies we watch in recent years, to the point that there was even a study conducted in 2019 that confirmed the same (the study concluded that in terms of depictions of sex onscreen in mainstream productions, the most comparable era we’re living is the 1960’s).

While in Hollywood eroticism in cinema peaked in the 1990’s, in Korea it was arguably the 1980’s, when the 1982 released Madame Aema (of which the recent Netflix series Aema adapted its tumultuous production) kicked off the decades wave of erotic cinema, a result of the government loosening its censorship rules of how much skin could be shown Continue reading

Improving Your Cognitive Capacities Effectively & Confidently

If you are keen on making sure that you are able to think as clearly as possible, that you are using your brain in the best way you possibly can, this is something that you can approach from a number of angles. The truth is that it’s always going to be possible to achieve this as long as you put your mind to it and stick with it, so that is something that is really important to think about on the whole.

In this post, we are going to discuss some of the ways to improve your cognitive capacities effectively and confidently, so you can ensure that you are going to really make the most of your brain. All of the following things are bound to help a great deal with that. Let’s take a look at what they are and what you might want to bear in mind here.

Build A Healthy Foundation

One of the first things you will want to think about is making sure that you have a healthy foundation in place. There are a few main things here that might be important for you to consider, in fact. For instance, you will certainly want to make sure that you have a lot of sleep on a regular basis. You might want to aim for 7-9 hours. If you are getting that nightly, it means that you are helping to consolidate your memory and clearing out mental waste. That is not just a metaphor: sleep really does do that. Anything you can do to improve your sleep is therefore likely to help considerably.

Another important part of building a healthy foundation is to have strong nutrition. There are certain elements to nutrition which are going to be particularly worthwhile thinking about. For instance, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and steady blood sugar all from whole foods can help a lot with improving brain function and fueling your brain in general, so that is something that you might want to think about. If you are eating well, you are certainly going to find it easier to think well.

It’s also vital that you get enough movement. Regular exercise boosts blood flow, helps with neuroplasticity, and means that you will have a much stronger and more robust mood control too. All of that means that you are going to be able to work with your cognitive abilities so much more strongly and powerfully, so it’s really useful to make sure that you are thinking about that. Make sure you are getting regular exercise if you want to keep your mind strong as well.

If you have those foundational things in place, you are going to find that your cognitive capacities are so much stronger on the whole, and that you are going to have a much better chance of thinking well and using your brain as you would hope to. But what else might you be able to do to help with that?

Train Your Mind

You can think of your brain, and even your mind, as a muscle. If you are able to train that muscle, you’ll find that you are much more likely to be able to achieve a great deal. This is the kind of thing that you are really going to need to know about, and you’ll have to make sure that you are doing everything you can to train it effectively. You’ll therefore want to consider mixing mental workouts into your daily routine as well.

To help with this, you’ll want to think about some of the ways you can approach it. For instance, it’s going to be a good idea to try and learn new skills, as this is always going to be a strong way to build your thinking abilities. That could be anything from languages, learning an instrument, or coding projects. It could be anything else as well. The point is that you are going to find learning new things can really help a lot.

Pic Source – CCO License

It can also help to spend a lot of time on memory exercise, including spaced repetition or mnemonic devices. These improve recall, and over time that is going to help you to have a much better ability to think. This is going to help you greatly and you will find that you are going to have a great approach to improving your cognitive capacities.

As well as that, you should think about using strategic games to help improve your thinking. That can include doing a jumble solver task, playing chess with a worthy opponent, or really doing any kind of puzzles that are going to help with this. Video games can also help enhance focus and problem-solving abilities, and you’ll find that they are going to be well worth thinking about as well. All in all, it’s going to make a huge difference to your ability to think well.

Manage Your Mental Energy

You do not have limitless mental energy, and it won’t benefit you to pretend you do. Cognition is not just about ability, it’s about availability. Guard your attention, and do all you can to manage your mental energy as well as possible. That means reducing multitasking, because context switching drains mental energy considerably. It also means using breaks wisely, perhaps using something like the Pomodoro technique. And you might want to think about taking short walks to help refresh your focus too. It will also certainly help to limit the digital clutter in your life. Curating your notifications and practicing intentional screen use is really important here.

Those are some of the main things you can do to improve your cognitive capacities effectively and confidently, so you’ll find that they are really going to be important things to think about for sure. You might be pleasantly surprised at how much of a difference these kinds of things can really make. That can help you a lot in many different areas of your life.

How Casino Dining is Changing the Game

If you stroll into a lively casino with a friend, you’ll notice something’s changed. Instead of the neon confusion of jingling coin machines and the clatter of cards, your senses zero in on the scent of sizzling steak and a team of chefs in open kitchens moving with quiet precision. Sure, there’s plenty of gaming action nearby (whether you’re enjoying a physical venue or settling in for a digital experience on platforms like betway online casino) but it’s the promise of a great meal that’s set the mood for the evening. More and more, guests are trading tired buffet lines for unique dining adventures and, as it turns out, these kitchen upgrades are changing the entire casino experience.

Here’s why the most successful casinos are betting big on their restaurants, and what that means for anyone looking for something a little richer in flavor than just a lucky streak.

Forkfuls of Change

Casino dining has become much more than a convenient break from the tables. This year, 66% of casino visitors named food and beverage as their top non-gaming attraction, the highest priority for players when weighing where to spend their time.

You might know someone who chose their last casino getaway because of a buzzed-about restaurant, not a jackpot. That kind of decision isn’t just common; it’s shaping how casinos plan their future. National studies point to a continued rise in revenue spent outside gaming, with high-end dining and entertainment fueling both new visits and longer stays.

There’s a practical side, too. The casino hotel market is projected to reach $369.3 billion by 2035, thanks in large part to guests craving these integrated experiences. Gaming draws them in, but dining, wellness and events are what make them come back.

Every Bite, Every Bet

The link between a great meal and that extra round at the blackjack table isn’t just anecdotal. Industry data from research teams at UNLV and Florida International University spells it out: high-worth players (those spending $400 or more per visit) bring in $185 in gaming profit for each steakhouse dining experience. Not to be overlooked, mid-worth players ($100–$399 daily value) are heavily influenced by restaurant choices across all types, contributing over $20 million in gaming revenue.

And while casinos are places of luck and strategy, one trend is clear: food brings people back. Nearly 67% of players now say that a venue’s high-quality food is a key part of their decision to return, right after gaming itself and the hotel room.

Here’s where the smart operators are focusing their attention:

  • Developing signature restaurants with open kitchens and seasonal tasting menus
  • Introducing sommelier-driven wine experiences and craft cocktails
  • Hosting culinary festivals and guest chef events
  • Investing in visually stunning, Instagram-friendly dining spaces
  • Offering themed or immersive dining for special occasions

A thoughtful menu (coupled with a welcoming atmosphere) means that even if luck isn’t with you at the tables, you’re still walking away happy.

Dining as Destination

Walk into any major casino property today, and the energy of its restaurants stands shoulder to shoulder with the gaming excitement. Non-gaming activities now take up more than a quarter of visitors’ time, and integrated casino hotels are becoming true entertainment centers. This competitive edge has led to the emergence of culinary programs that attract both passionate foodies and traditional gamers.

It’s not all about high rollers, either. The rise of group dining and mid-week events shows casinos are reaching out to Millennials and Gen Z, who want shared experiences and fun atmospheres over simply winning big. Social media is full of these moments: a group huddled around a chef’s table, interactive dishes and easy, cashless payments that make splitting the bill feel effortless.

For casinos, it’s simple arithmetic great food equals more nights booked, more games played and a fuller pipeline of happy guests. Looking ahead, the casino hotel market in North America remains the global leader. Cities famous for their gaming floors are trending up, not just for jackpots, but for exceptional dining and nightlife.

The Slow Burn

If there’s one piece of advice industry analysts can offer: invest more in food and beverage programs. Recent research found that while 85% of casino operators plan to grow non-gaming revenue, over half still devote less than 10% of their marketing budgets to promoting their restaurants and events.

That’s a lot of untapped potential. Operators focused on culinary innovation (partnering with notable chefs, designing striking interiors and promoting specials on slower nights) are already seeing higher customer loyalty and greater word of mouth.

With all that opportunity on the table, maybe the real gamble is sticking with the status quo.

So Much on the Plate for the Future

New casino experiences are about way more than just gambling. Today’s customers look for a night out that entertains and delights on all levels, and they would be just as happy to remember it for an amazing risotto as they would for winning at roulette. The evidence is real: fine dining creates new customers, brings them back and builds the brand far beyond the slot floor.

For guests that is definitely a win. Every time they come they will experience new tastes and surprises at every turn, not just a lucky roll of the dice. For casinos this is a recipe for success and future expansion, even in an evolving competitive landscape. If everyone plays their cards right, all parties will leave happy

Urban Ice Kratom Capsules Review: A Reliable, No-Surprises Pick That Plays It Safe Like a Familiar Movie

Urban Ice kratom capsules remind me a lot of putting on a familiar movie at the end of a long day. Not something groundbreaking or unforgettable, but something you know will deliver a steady, predictable experience. That sense of consistency is really where this brand stands out. From batch to batch, the effects tend to feel the same, which is actually a big deal in the kratom space where quality can vary quite a bit. You are not left guessing whether one bottle will hit harder or weaker than the last, and that reliability gives it a certain level of trust, even if it does not fully reach premium territory.

The capsule format adds to that ease of use. There is no dealing with the bitterness of powder or the hassle of measuring doses. You just take them and go, which makes the whole experience feel streamlined and beginner friendly. It is kind of like choosing a movie you can throw on without having to pay full attention. It is simple, convenient, and does what you need it to do without extra effort. For people who value that kind of no fuss approach, Urban Ice definitely delivers.

When it comes to the actual quality of the kratom itself, it is solid but not exceptional. The grind is fine, the product feels fresh enough, and the effects are there, but it does not have that extra kick or richness that you might find with smaller, more specialized vendors. If you have been around kratom for a while, you might compare it to watching a decent streaming release instead of a big theatrical event. It works, it is enjoyable, but it does not leave a lasting impression or make you feel like you discovered something special.

One area where Urban Ice falls short is transparency. Clear lab testing information is not front and center, which can be a bit of a drawback if you care about purity and knowing exactly what you are putting into your body. In a market where more brands are becoming open about their sourcing and testing, this lack of visibility makes Urban Ice feel a step behind. It does not necessarily mean the product is bad, but it does add a layer of uncertainty that some users might not be comfortable with.

Then there is the price. For what you get, it can feel a little on the higher side. You are paying for convenience and consistency, but not necessarily for top tier quality. That is where the movie comparison really sticks. It is like paying full price for a film that you know would feel more at home on a streaming service. You will still enjoy it, but you might question whether it was worth the ticket price.

Overall, Urban Ice kratom capsules are dependable, easy to use, and consistent enough to keep you coming back if you value a predictable experience. They are not going to compete with the best of the best in terms of quality or potency, but they are not trying to be that either. Think of them as a comfort watch you revisit when you do not want surprises. As long as you go in with the right expectations, you will likely find them perfectly serviceable, even if they never quite rise to the level of something truly memorable.

If you want to give it ago, try Red Vein Bali capsules, which can be ordered here.

If you want to experience Kratum with the energizing effects of kratom and the relaxing qualities of CBD, we reccommend trying this.
