Of course, this is the woefully inaccurate plot synopsis from the terrible American trailer that ruined the context of the movie and gave away Nameless’ motive. It was a huge annoyance back then when CTHD had an honest trailer while Miramax refused to do the same and made Hero seem like a generic kung fu film.
If I knew that the American release would change the subtitles so drastically that it altered the plot, I wouldn’t have read them when I saw it in theaters.
