14 Blades | Blu-ray & DVD (Anchor Bay)
Today’s Deal on Fire is the Blu-ray for 2010’s 14 Blades (read our review), a period actioner from director Daniel Lee (Dragon Blade, White Vengeance) headlined by martial arts star Donnie Yen (Sakra, The Monkey King, Ip Man 4).
14 Blades is a thriller set during the Ming Dynasty and centered on a secret service agent (Yen) in the emperor’s court who is betrayed and then hunted by his colleagues.
Ku Huen Chiu – who is mostly known for his work on Monk Comes Down from the Mountain, Expendables 2 and Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons – handles the martial arts choreography for the film.
The film also stars Zhao Wei (Painted Skin 2: The Resurrection), Wu Chun (Assassin’s Blade, Saving General Yang), Kate Tsui (Eye in the Sky, Bodyguards and Assassins) and Qi Yuwu (The Founding of a Party, Painted Skin).
