1/3/25 | Hunt the Wicked (Hi-YAH! Original)
From director Suiqiang Huo (Blind War) and stars Xie Miao (Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman) and Andy On (100 Yards) comes Hunt the Wicked!
This film tells the story of the brilliant detective Huang Mingjin and the criminal mastermind Wei Yunzhou. It revolves around the core secrets of a mysterious and sinister city, unfolding multiple confrontations and life-and-death struggles.
1/10/25 | The Five Deadly Venoms
Director Chang Cheh (The One Armed Swordsman) hit upon an extremely successful formula for this landmark kung fu film featuring a very talented cast and a genuinely involving story that goes far beyond the threadbare “I must avenge Teacher” and “kill the Japs” stuff that gives the old school martial arts genre a bad name. In fact, the plot overshadows the action to a certain extent; fight scenes in this movie are not particularly long, intense, or numerous. As it is, it’s very good fun, and its impact on the genre is tremendous. But, with some beefing up, it could have been that much greater as a film in and of itself and as a springboard for its prolific stars.
The film stars Chiang Sheng (Exciting Dragon), Sun Chien (Deadly Breaking Sword), Philip Kwok (Masked Avengers), Lo Meng (Human Lanterns), Lu Feng (Death Ring), Wai Pak (Young Master), Dick Wei (Final Run), Johnny Wang Lung Wei (Twin Dragons), Suen Shu Pau (Buddah’s Palm and Dragon Fist), and Ku Feng (The Jade Raksha). | Read our review.
1/17/25 | Executioners of Shaolin
Hung Hze-Kwan (Chen Kuan-Tai) is one of the lucky survivors who barely escaped Pai Mei’s (Lo Lieh) attack on the Shaolin Temple. When Hung Hze-Kwan finds out the high priest (Lee Hoi Sang) was killed during the raid, he dedicates his whole life to getting revenge on Pai Mei.
Directed by Lau Kar-leung (Martial Club), Executioners of Shaolin also stars Lily Li Li Li (Shatter), Wong Yu (Young Avengers), Kong Do (Super Power), Hsiao Ho (Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog), John Cheung (Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story), and Gordon Liu (Shaolin Martial Arts). | Read our review.
1/31/25 | Dirty Ho
