On November 27, 2023, 88 Films is releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) for Last Hero in China, a 1993 martial arts film directed by Wong Jing (High Risk) that stars Jet Li (League of Gods), Dicky Cheung (Champions), Sharla Cheung (The Dragon Chronicles: The Maidens of Heavenly Mountain), Leung Kar-Yan (Master and the Kid), Gordon Liu (Shaolin Martial Arts) and Anita Yuen (Thunderbolt).

Official details:

Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li) is a legendary Kung Fu master, waging a one man war against criminals and corruption in the Boxer Society of turn-of-the-century China. He unknowingly opens a martial arts school right next to a notorious brothel, only to come across a kidnapping plot.

    Not the biggest fan of this one. More of a parody than the next Wong Fei Hung adventure. Hopefully its a much better transfer than the Orange Sky Golden Harvest from a decade ago.

    Agh! Why only region B? This is another one that needed a good release. Can’t resist Jet Li dressing up as a chicken and later doing drunken boxing!

      I thought it was a parody. Not in the same vein as those other films, but it was still very much a satire. Even Fong Sai Yuk got to be a partial parody of the Wong Fei Hung films.
