Golden Job | Blu-ray (Well Go USA)

On April 9th, 2019, Well Go USA will be releasing the Blu-ray for Golden Job (read our review), a heist-action film directed by and co-starring Chin Kar Lok (Kung Fu Jungle).
The cast of Young and Dangerous – Ekin Cheng, Jordan Chan, Michael Tse and Jerry Lamb – reunite for Golden Job, which tells story of five brothers who take part of a top secret robbery that’s not what it seems. Once the brothers realize they’ve been misappropriately used, they take action!
The film also stars Eric Tsang (The Adventurers), Charmaine Sheh (72 Tenants of Prosperity) and Kaki Sham (Frozen).

Oh man, Chin Kar Lok may be one of the best stuntmen that’s ever lived, but his track record as a director is hardly inspiring. This is the guy responsible for ”97 Aces Go Places’ and ‘No Problem 2’, so let’s hope he’s improved in the 16 years since he last sat in the directors chair.
Haha! I liked No Problem 2! It’s not great, but it was fun, and I liked the tributes to Other HK films like Police Story.
It was also nice to see Yuen Biao vs. Kim Win Jin even if it wasn’t the dream match it was meant to be.
I think Kar-Lok is unlucky that he doesn’t always get the best film projects, and would do well with the right material. (Then again, he was proud of Star Runner. Maybe his tastes have gotten more questionable over time.)
It’s strange how this is coming to home video before Big Brother even though it’s US theatrical run was after that film.
