On February 7, 2025, Dark Nuns is heading to theaters from Well Go USA. Directed by Kwon Hyeok-Jae (Troubleshooters), this thriller is the latest from South Korea’s string of “religious” themed movies that started with 2015’s The Priests.
Since then we’ve had MMA priests fighting demons in The Divine Fury, occult detective priests in Svaha: The Sixth Finger, and more exorcisms in Metamorphosis. Not to mention The Guest, The Fiery Priest, and don’t forget just plain old Priest. More recently, we had Devils Stay.
Dark Nuns – also known as The Priests 2: Dark Nuns, a title marketed as a spin-off of The Priests – revolves around two nuns who work together to save a boy who has been possessed by an evil spirit.
The film stars Song Hye-Kyo (The Grandmaster), Jeon Yeo-Bin (Night in Paradise), Lee Jin-Uk (The Target), Heo Jun-Ho (Escape from Mogadishu) and Moon Woo-Jin (Peninsula).
