Day Zero | Blu-ray (Well Go USA)
Tagalog language action-thrillers have been making somewhat of a mark in recent years (Maria, BuyBust, Metro Manila and On the Job come to mind), so the following news is definitely a welcome addition to those are into Filipino cinema!
Coming to Blu-ray on July 11th from Well Go USA is Day Zero (read our review), an action-horror flick directed by Joey De Guzman (The Ghosting) and starring MMA-turned-actor Brandon Vera, who is perhaps best known for his starring role in Erik Matti’s BuyBust.
In the film, a former elite soldier (Vera) is released from jail only to discover that the outside world has been taken over by a dangerous virus. Chased by hordes of the undead, he fights tooth and nail in a desperate attempt to reach his estranged family.
Day Zero also stars Pepe Herrera (Ikaw), MJ Lastimosa (Santigwar), Joey Marquez (On the Job series), Ricci Rivero (Rabid) and Freya Fury Montierro.
