On March 13, 2026, Goldwyn Films is releasing Mexicali (aka The Farmer), an upcoming action film starring martial arts powerhouse Bren Foster – fresh off his acclaimed 2024 film, Life After Fighting.

Ex-fighter Joe (Foster) helps run his partner Estrella’s farm in Mexico. After taking underground fights to support workers, he’s forced to defend himself and Marco when Chavez’s gang attacks them on the road.

Mexicali marks the debut feature for director Luke LaFontaine, who is known for his stunt work in titles such as Iron Man and the Oldboy remake. Fight choreography is handled by both LaFontaine and Foster.

The film is written by Jesse V. Johnson, the cult-favorite action filmmaker behind Triple Threat and Accident Man.

Co-starring alongside Foster is Tania Raymonde (Deep Blue Sea 3), Plutarco Haza (El Señor de los Cielos) and Kris Van Damme (Enemies Closer).

Mexicali hits the U.S. on March 13, 2026. Watch the NEWEST Trailer, followed by four action clips (via Action-Flix) and recent Trailer below:

I’m sure that Luke LaFontaine and Bren Foster were great collaborators and bounced all kinds of ideas off of each other.

I’d like to see a fantastic 10 minute fight scene with Bren Foster vs Lateef Crowder.

Great stuff! It looks like Luke LaFontaine knew exactly how to showcase Bren Foster, and the action scenes seem to be a nice combination of precision point martial arts and brutality. Those who have seen LaFontaine’s appearances on The Corridor Crew on YouTube can attest to how well he knows his craft.

Yeah, this is gonna be one of the better DTV movies of the year. Definitely looking forward to it. And you can tell Johnson wrote this. The man loves to bring out the heavy artillery for his big “Commando” endings, going all the way back to “Pit Fighter”.

Oh yeah. There’s certainly those vibes along with the feeling of Peckinpah, Hill and Milius. We’re getting all of these sub genres combined into a neat package.

The good shit! Yeah, you can always see stuff like The Wild Bunch, The Getaway, and Extreme Prejudice in Johnson’s stuff.
