September 2 | Fearless Heroes S01E36 – The saga of Fearless Heroes continues! In Fearless Heroes, Vincent Zhao (God of War, Unity of Heroes) takes the role of Huo Yuan Jia, the role Jet Li played in Fearless, in this new 2020 TV series. 

September 2 | Legacy of Rage – Directed by Ronny Yu (The Bride with White Hair), 1986’s Legacy of Rage stars Brandon Lee (The Crow) as a working class man who is sent to prison after being framed by his best friend (Micheal Wong). But once released, he plots his revenge with the help of his new buddy (Mang Hoi).

September 9 | Silent Trigger – Waxman (Dolph Lundgren) is a former Special Forces soldier who is now working as a heavily armed assassin for a top secret government agency. When a covert mission goes terribly wrong, Waxman and fellow assassin Clegg become that agency’s prime targets. This 1996 film is directed by Russell Mulcahy, who is best known for helming Highlander and Resident Evil: Extinction.

September 16 | A Janitor – From Yugo Sakamoto, the director of Baby Assassins, comes 2021’s The JanitorA professional assassin goes undercover as a school’s janitor to protect the daughter of a Yakuza boss. This film stars Fukushi Seiji (Kamen Rider Zero-One the Movie: Real×Time), Imou Haruka (Demolition Girl) and Yamaji Kazuhiro (Inugami). 

September 23 | The Champions – Yuen Biao (Circus Kids) stars as an acrobatic country hick who must flee out of town after injuring a wealthy socialite during an innocent competition. While exploring the area, he runs into a soccer team who discovers his talents. This 1983 Hong Kong classic is directed by Brandy Yuen (co-director of In the Line of Duty 3) and also stars Dick Wei (Final Run), Moon Lee (Killer Angels) and Eddie Ko Hung (Burning Ambition). English dubbed version also available.

September 30 | The Blacksheep Affair – As a punishment for ignoring orders, a Chinese police officer is posted to Europe where he encounters his ex-girlfriend who fled China after Tiananmen Square. Their paths soon tangle with the charismatic leader of the Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo. This 1998 Hong Kong actioner is directed by Lam Wai Lun (Satan’s Return) and stars Vincent Zhao (Once Upon A Time In China 4), Andrew Lin (Infernal Affairs 2), Shu Qi (Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen) and Kenneth Tsang (Chasing the Dragon). English dubbed version also available.

      That’s great to hear, especially from an app that started from just a few titles. =) Sounds like they’re getting a lot more classic HK titles (and less mainland films, which is mostly a good thing!).
