Today’s Deal on Fire is the Blu-ray for Sammo Hung’s 1985 action-drama, Heart of the Dragon (aka First Mission).
Jackie plays a good-hearted cop looking after his learning-disabled brother Danny, played by Sammo, but doesn’t always succeed in keeping him out of trouble. When Danny is taken as a hostage, his brother will risk everything – his career and even his life – to rescue him, throwing it down as only Jackie Chan can.
Made the same year as Police Story, Heart of Dragon was a change of pace for the great action artists, giving them a chance to show of their acting chops as well as their stunt skills – even if they don’t ignore the latter!
The film also stars Emily Chu (Millionaire’s Express), Lam Ching Ying (Mr. Vampire), Meng Hoi (The Blonde Fury), Peter Chan (Hocus Pocus), Yuen Wah (Eastern Condors), Chin Kar Lok (Project A), Melvin Wong (Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars), James Tien (The Tattooed Dragon).

Just preordered the First Mission alternate cover. Great to see Arrow release its 1st Jackie film hope this is the start of bringing all his international releases to the US with new art & books!
So “Heart of Dragon” is the official title? I’ve always been calling it “Heart of THE Dragon.” I thought it was another case where a Hong Kong film omits “the” from its title (Tiger on Beat.)
This looks like a fantastic release.
